The Early Bird restaurant landing page was built as an integreal component for their online marketing campaign to boost visitors to their branches. The landing page is fully responsive and features minimal amounts of content to focus only on the essentials.
A slider featuring some of their famous dishes is followed by work timings for each of their branches with contact information. In addition, maps pointing out their branches were integrated using the Google Maps API. The only challenge was to make the embedded maps play along well in the responsive layout across screen sizes.
One simple but highly effective technique implemented was to disable the maps’ initial touch response on mobile devices which otherwise results in an unwanted panning of the map when users scroll. The maps however continued to be fully functional after an initial touch and would return to their original state once focus was taken away from them.
